Job banks can certainly expand your job search, opening the doors to recruiters and hiring managers seeking someone with your skill set. My comment about using job banks can be summed up with four words: "luck of the draw." You may submit your resume; and yes, your phone rings off the hook. On the flip side, you may experience nothing but dead silence ... with no response from anyone. The success from your submission is based on several variables; i.e. the depth of your skill set, current job market conditions, quality of those viewing your resume, and so on. In short, don't take it personal if you don't receive the return you're hoping. It's more about them than it is about you. ;) You have two options when posting your information: listing your resume as public and private. Public may be best because it puts your resume out there and into the "open forum" for search. It does open you up to be found, so if confidentiality is an issue, then the second option is likely your better choice. Private listing means your contact info is eliminated, your current employer as listed as "confidential," and various other changes needed to make you unidentifiable. I warn you, however, it's not full-proof.
If you'd like me to submit your resume, saving you time, let me know. I have inexpensive packages available. Plus, I can "combo" the below to cater to your individual needs. Job-Search Tip: How about searching for jobs using your favorite search engine? Give it a try. Plug in "your target title+industry" or "target title" only, or "job title+city, state."
